Im Jahr 2000 erschien auf dem deutschen Label Marina ein Album zu Ehren von Brian Wilson und den Beach Boys. "Caroline Now" war nicht irgendein Tributalbum, sondern eins, dessen Interpreten die Ideen eines Brian Wilson fortzuführen schienen. Das Aufgebot an Künstlern auf "Caroline Now", das jetzt als Vinyl Doppelalbum veröffentlicht wird, ist in der Tat imponierend: Pop-Legenden wie Kim Fowley und Alex Chilton sind ebenso dabei wie Bands wie Saint Etienne und The High Llamas. Der NME kürte "Caroline Now" zur "Compilation of the month", der Musikexpress vergab sechs Sterne, und der Rolling Stone nannte die Auswahl der Songs und der Künstler "exquisit".
