REISSUE 2023 ON HYACINTH 180G VINYL! LIMITED TO 300 COPIES WW! DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT was born in February 2009 when Nikita Kamprad and Tobias Jaschinsky released their self titled debut record. The basic idea of the band and the first musical material, however, existed for a year and a half prior to that, after the founding fathers'band FROSTGRIM had split up, but the urge to discover themselves via melodic and athmosperic black metal music and texts was still present. The first pressing (200 pieces) of the first release were sold on the band's homepage and sold out within a month. After the songwriting for the second full lenght was finished by the end of 2011, the decision was made to go to the Tonstudio Würzburg in February/March 2012 to capture 'Unstille'. Thereby the band decided to do the entire production themselves, including all instrumental and vocal recordings as well as mix and master.Then shortly after the band signed to Viva Hate Records to re-record and re-release the self titled album and an EP release in 2011, AGONIE. The press feedback was impressive that magss like the Metal Hammer magazine called them the highest talented German Black Metal band. Even musicians such as KREATOR's mastermind MILLE (,Der Weg Einer Freiheit are the future of the German extreme metal. About as clear as it gets!") and DARK FUNERAL'S singer NACHTGAR became big fans of the band. After being sold out for a couple of years finally their stunning debut "Der Weg Einer Freigeit - st/, and their second break through album "Unstille" are being rereleased on vinyl with an alternate layout, 180 g colored vinyl, again limited to total of 500 copies each. The s/t album is being released as re-mastered version. Easily 40.000 records sold, sold out european tours plus appearances at the most important festivals such as Wacken, Roadburn, Summer Breeze, Hellfest and many more! Influencers of metal such as "Mille Kreator" and even Hip Hop superstars such as Germany's Casper call them the most important german Black Metal band with no sign of ever losing it's quality and uniqueness.
