This is the reissue of the legendary "Fear And Whiskey"-album of the MEKONS. The band returned to playing live shows during the 1984/85 miner's strike to raise money for the strikers. This comeback of the MEKONS ended up in recording their most influential album: "Fear And Whiskey". While staying true to the political intensity and minimalism the MEKONS added new layers of lyricism and emotion to their sound. Inspired by folk, honky-tonk and cajun-music the MEKONS gorged themselves on traditional music in an attempt to break out of the cul-de-sac that punkrock had become. With "Fear & Whiskey" they found their own voice at last.
