Eureka Machines are a band from Leeds, who this year (2018) celebrate a decade of being a band with our fifth (and, in our opinion, best) album yet, Victories. An expansive and heartfelt collection of twisting and turning tunes with a heavier undercurrent of darkness than previously, which belies the usual pop sheen... Victories celebrates the sardonic wit of our Northern homelands while remaining true to our usual mandates of positivity and enthusiasm. Oh, and big, big choruses. Singer and songwriter Chris Catalyst says,. When we formed the band ten years ago, the remit was of course to smash the charts and tour the world, while writing the best music we can and having as much fun as is humanly possible. The first two dreams didn't really work out but that's no excuse to forget about the latter two, which we continue to do, completely on our own terms and with no agenda other than to ourselves and each other. That spirit of DIY and art-for-art's-sake is so important for music and to community, and I hope we can carry on under our own not-inconsiderable steam for another ten years.'
