Happy Releaseday, Captain Planet!
Heute erscheint das neue Album "Ein Ende" unserer Lieblingsnorddeutschen CAPTAIN PLANET. Und das natürlich stilecht auf unserem Lieblingsnordetuschenlabel Zeitstrafe. Wir tanzen uns zum Song "Vom Ende An" schonmal ins Wochenende und für euch haben wir hier noch ein Schmankerl vorbereitet: Benni hat sich nämlich die Zeit genommen, sich mit uns hinzusetzen und uns seine 5 liebsten Platten vorzustellen und ein bisschen was dazu zu erzählen. Einen guten Musikgeschmack der Mann.

What a courageous and outstanding record! Even though we might not have too much in common with At the Drive-in, it’s still my reference for how much emotion can be put into songs. There’s a lesson that I’ve learned from that album: It’s not about how good you can play your instruments, it’s about whether you manage to capture the energy.
02. Small Brown Bike Our Own Wars
Small Brown Bike is one of the most underrated bands I know. This album taught me that if you record music, make sure that people feel how much it means to you in every second of each song (and that you might have to tune your guitars from time to time).
03. Gorilla Biscuits Start Today
I was 14 when older guys from my school asked me to play drums in their band and told me that they wanted to do a cover version of a song called “Start Today”. They made me a tape copy of the album to learn how to play it. It was a revelation!
04. Hot Water Music No Division
There’s no other record that embodies the feeling of „You’re not alone, we’re in this together!“ as good as “No Division”. Live your heart and never follow! What else is there to say?
05. Bad Religion No Control
Yes, I grew up in some northern German village in the 90s as a skatepunk kid and this is one of the few albums that is still as important to me now as it was back then. By the way, which other band manages to have guitar solos in every damn song without being absolutely annoying?
